A must-see pass before arriving at Porto Antico is the historic Via San Lorenzo (reachable on foot in about 15 minutes) where the magnificent Cathedral of San Lorenzo rises. It dates back to 1098 and houses the Ashes of St. John the Baptist, patron of the city. This Gothic Romanesque cathedral houses the Treasury Museum, with rich sacred objects including the Sacred Cat, some believed to be the true Sacred Grail, and the neighboring Diocesan Museum.
